Big block Dart hood clearance question

About the same.... but not that well shaped.
That looks like a later version of mine.
I got it to work with the supplied lid, and with this lid.

I don’t think it’s made anymore.

Not what is in your picture.
Crap...my bad..wrong pic....old DP4B. Currently has the RPM with same carb/air cleaner assy. Clears the stock hood just fine. Sorry for any confusion.

Drop base, Mopar version of the of the eddie dual plane, normal thickness filter, and my hood clears perfectly. 1971 Duster with a 440

I wouldn't plan on more drop than the one in the pics.
I've got an absolutely beautiful huge-drop-base spun aluminum aircleaner, with a reverse velocity stack lid. (directs the flow down into the carb around a dropped center lid). Really nicely done piece.

It's been sitting on the shelf for thirty years, thru multiple cars that could have used it. Why? Because the drop is SO EXTREME, that no throttle linkage works, no kick down has room, can't even hook up fuel lines to a holley. So, it's garage art.

I could use a spacer to get it higher off the carb.....but then the point of the drop becomes mute.

Would you mind posting a picture of that? Wanna sell it? lol

It's in CA, I'm in az at the moment, so no pics. It looks very similar to what bsb posted in #22, only not quite as well shaped. Got a nice lid though, I might use that some day.
I'm nor really interested in selling, I might HAVE to use it. I've got a car with so much motor out of the hood (if it HAD a good, that is), that I might need a very low a/c to avoid a california ticket for obstructed vision.
