I would think as long as you had it turned off at high rev's It would be fine.

TTT:-D

Accidently made a pass with the a/c on(had it on in staging lanes)and didnt
hurt e.t. alot.Heavy dakota running mid 6s on the juice in the 1/8th.You can
go fast and be cool!:toothy7:

just kind of curious at what point do you ditch the a/c

Like i said above.... You don't ditch it at a HP point unless you really don't want it any more... But The compressors are RPM limited. Use the precautions above.... Turn it off, or better.... Remove the belt when racing.

Getting one with a higher RPM limit would be a very nice way to go.

I'd think when you have a pure track car it's time to ditch the A/C. Besides the rpm issue, the A/C saps power and adds heat to the engine when it is on. Of course, when you ditch the A/C you take weight off and it all comes off the nose.

What I always suggest ... is a vacuum cut out switch. When you jump on the HP, the switch cuts the compressor out for that time. 2 purposes: Saves the compressor and gives you the HP needed at that moment... just my $.02 worth
