I am planning on using 245/60-14s in back and 215/70-14s up front in my dart. The 245s have a diameter of 25.6" and the 205s have a diameter of 25.3". Seems like a good match height wise while providing some nice width in the back. Nobody seems to be making alot of 14" tires anymore and all I can find for a manufacturer for both of these sizes is BF Goodrich. Cooper Cobras used to come in both sizes, but I don't think they carry the 245/60-14s any more.
I had some 245x60x14's on my 64 Dart (in my avatar). I was running them on 14 x 5.5 steelies. They fit fine with no rubbing or anything. Cooper Cobra is the brand I was using. I have seen then a few times from local tire stores.
I forgot to mention that I was going with the 245/60/14s, but on custom 7" wide steel rims. From what the tire manufacturers recommend, I agree that 225/70/14 is probably as wide as you should go on stock rims.
I have a pair of 235/60-14 Firestone Firehawks to sell. They are mounted on 14x6 lbp rallys. The tires might have 100 miles if that. I am in North Jersey. Where are you located?
