I'm trying to figure out how big of a rear tire I can get to fit onto my 64 barracuda. Will have an 8 3/4 with disc brakes...sooner or later. What would be the biggest tire to fit back there without any modifications?

theres a thread on here somewhere about that but i think it was for dusters

Then that ain't about early A's is it?

To the OP, on my 65 Valiant street/race car, I had 28/11.50/15 Mickey Thompson ET Streets on the back with a stock length 8 3/4, the 3/4" mopar spring relocation kit and Centerline 15X9 Auto Drags. I did have to roll the inner edge of the outer wheel house up but that was all I had to do. If I had my son in the back and a trunk full of groceries, it would scrub lightly on hard bumps, but none at 3 people in the car and the standard stuff in the trunk. It was a nice fit.

I've had 255/60/R15's on 15X7 rims w/4 1/4 back space on my 64 Dart. Stock width rear w/drum brakes. Just an fyi when going to rear discs they add 1/4" to the width... It's already tight in there... I now have 17X7 4.25 bs with 235/50/17's and no issues.

Hello BOBSDART, Have a 1966 valiant and would like to also put 255/60/15 tires on my car but the rims I am looking at are 15 x 8 / 4.50 backing and 0 mm offset. Would these work ? I have 15x8 /3.75 backing and -18.80 /-19 .20 mm offset and they will not work stick out past fender well . I would appreciate your advice very much . Thank you Richie

I have 255/60/15 on rear of my 63. At the time I installed, I felt this was widest I could go without rubbing inside inner fender on suspension travel. This is with disc brake conversion and offset shackles. Weld Racing rims but don't know offset.
