Black hood protectant?

How do you guys keep your satin black hoods looking good? Obviously you can't wax it, what do you use to protect it? What did people use "back in the day" to keep it from fading or turning gray? I've heard you can use baby oil, anyone tried it?

I use a detailer spray that contains no silicones.

I use a wax called "Buffalo Milk" great for the entire car, they also make a leather-vinyl cleaner protector. The wax is a great product you can wax the whole car in less than an hour & works great on satin black!
