block hugger headers

my headers are too close to the stearing coupling on my 72 318 dart. PS/auto. Previous person hit them with a hammer to gain 1/2inch clearance. Will the block huggers headers be any better, will the collector be in the way more or less than plain headers? wanted to know before I buy them. tks Mike

You can get the Flaming River coupler to gain some clearance but you have to cut your steering shaft & that little piece is not cheap either. I got block huggers and they were just laying against the rag joint.
