what do you do about the sheet metal flexing up and down between the under braces on the barracuda hoods? I noticed this when I was block sanding and found low spots , you can push them out from underneath, but will easily pop back down.

I place small wedges between the brace and the hood until the hood slope is correct. Then caulk that joint with paintable latex caulk, leaving in the wedges until the caulk is fully cured. Then you can remove the wedges and the flexing will be gone.

what im worried about is later when your washing or even shutting the hood it will flex but I will try the wedges thanks guys

Try using a handpad? Basically a flexible block for contoured areas

I think he is worried about flexing after it is painted .

The factory used an adhesive style of caulking to hold the center of the hood to the underlying support.

yeah its not flexing while im sanding.I actually did the hood last fall, and thought I would check before it went to paint, and I was shocked when I felt the low spots so now I got a long dura block and Im priming and blocking and Im worried about it after paint
