difference between a 6-71 and an 8-71 is what the number stand for

6-71 means that blower was built to feed a 6cly GMC diesel at 71 cubic inches per cly so 6cly at 71 cubic inches is 426 cubic inch so and 8-71 was built for an 8cly diesel at 71 per hole or 568 cubic inch motor thats what when we put them on our smaller motors we need to under drive them remember GMC also made a 4-71 they also made blowers for there 53 cubic in per hole motors as well as there 92 cubic inch motors
