Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if I could get some help here with changing my bolt pattern from SBP to BBP. Can I just buy new rear axles and replace those or do i need to change brake backing plates and brakes as well? For the front, I just need to contact the manufacturer of the kit for my disc brake conversion and buy new rotors. Any help would be appreciated.

I just did this on my 67.
Distance between the bearing and the axle flange is larger on bbp, need bbp brakes.

Or, Dr Diff makes BBP axles for SBP brakes, and sells new re-drilled drums.
The A-Body axles listed on his website are 5 x 4.5.

Also, I found this helpful: Converting rear drum brakes from SBP to BBP

The A-body axles listed on my website will not fit stock 5 x 4" bolt pattern brakes with re-drilled drums, but If you leave me a note in the transaction, I will ship you a pair that will fit.

I can also supply a pair of new, re-drilled drums for $150 pair, plus shipping.

Assuming you have an 8 3/4......
I'd call Dr. Diff, and get a pair of his A-body axles with 4.5, and redrill the drums.
Sounds like you have the front solved (aftermarket kit?)
If you still have stock KH disc's, there is a thread here about how to use early mustang rotors with 5 on 4.5.

Assuming you have an A body 8 3/4 now you can buy custom axles that use the A body bearing spacing (B,C,E have a different spacing) and drill out your existing drums AND any future drums to 5x4.5

Or you can get the more plentiful B,C,E body 10 x 2.5" backing plates and hardware.

I have most everything but calipers for a 73 and up disc brake conversion if you're interested.
