have manual flaming river manual to hard to steer cant decide wich way to go borgeson modern or stock upgrade firm feel please give me your thuoght opinions and experiance on this thanks
I went with the Borgeson after ditching the FF rebuild. Mostly I went with the Borgeson unit because it was much smaller and I wanted more space for headers. Also, my car has hydroboost so I wanted more room for hydraulic adapters and what-not. The Borgeson box requires a little adapting to fit it to the steering column though. I think I had to buy or adapt a Flaming River u-joint to match the steering shaft splines to the Borgeson splines. I would rather have kept the factory slip-joint instead of a u-joint, but it feels great.
Either way, you'll probably want to spend some time shimming the PS pump to get just the right feel. There's a famous article at Mopar Action on how to accomplish this:
Have you considered switching to a different ratio manual box? Flaming river boxes are 16:1, same as the OE fast ratio boxes. The standard OE manual boxes are 24:1. Firm feel can also build you a box with a 20:1 ratio. Easier to fit the manual box, you can keep the steering coupler you have, and you won't have to change all of your pulleys either. Just a thought.
I'm gonna go borgeson eventually...my 66 dart is currently manual steering...from what I understand the borgeson box/adapter lets you use the stock non PS column. Worth the extra coin to me.

Sounds like everybody who has the borgeson is happy / I did hear something from a senior guy at stear and gear - not a unbiased opinion If I get some time tomorro I will do some more research
