Bought a full containment seat...

At my age I guess I need some better safety equipment but the thought of using a head and neck restraint and a containment seat that makes getting out of a burning car just does not make me all fuzzy.

The track has mandated the head and neck restraints in our super lates models and four cylinders. Can't do so in the other "sanctioned classes".

But I pulled the trigger this week and bought a used Ultra Shield full containment seat. They now retail for $900+ bucks... the guy I bought this one fom sez it's too big. I'm a lardass. I bought it for $400.00. Should be at my shop Monday.

Funny how the seat in my older chassis is held in place by four 1/4" bolts...yikes!!!

Now the head and neck restraint will take some getting used to... hate to have my helmet strapped to my seat. But I am still a rebel..got a new open face helmet and I'm using the same handkerchief for a dust mask that I have used in every race car since 1970!!!
