Bouncing Speedo

I have a 71 Scamp, as Im driving down the road the speedo bounces from say 55 to 65 then will settle out at 60 and start bouncing again. It kinda annoys me, is there any way to fix this or is it just something I have to live with?

probably need to clean the speedo cable and put a little lube on it... I use white grease in a tube.. I think it is lithium grease maybe...

X2 lube it and make sure there are no sharp bends in it
