brake fluid

how much volume is there in the brake system? (how many bottles would i have to buy?)
 
if memory serves me right from many years ago, I bought a gallon for my E
body and used way less than half to fill the system and bleed it out. I hope
that helps.
 
I use Dot 5 in all my cars. My wife's Audi A8 Quattro came with it from the factory in 93. Other than the fact that she's hell on brakes no problems.

I decided to mix some silicone fluid with some dot 3 and dot 4 today.
Have them sitting in a clear container. Looks like the silicone is heavier
than the other fluids, but no thickening or gelling of the fluids, only a clear
separation layer. FWIW

I'd like to thank all of you who participated in my quick survey. I'd also like to thank those who posted very useful information. Thank you very much.

As an aside, I now know that when I see an "old" Mopar on the road I had better watch out, since it appears to me that only about 15 of you are using brake fluid in their cars :p
