Brake Hose Vs Vice-Grips?

Why is it always me? We have a '65 Signet with a transplanted '74 differential. I am trying to overhaul the brakes. It appears the rear brake hose, where it connects to the distribution block on top of the rear end, has no place to place a wrench of any kind. The hose is crimped with metal band that has no fitting, just smooth as a baby's bottom. Never saw anything like that. Do I leave it alone or try to rip it out of there and change it out? Thank you.

I just found a photo of one on Ebay-it came that way with the block already attached! Of course, the item has already been sold.
