I have a 8.75 axle shell and sbp axles, I also have a complete 7.25 rear end with all new 10 x 1.75 brakes I was wondering if the brake set up from the 7.25 will fit on the 8.75 with only the 5th hole drilled in the backing plate. Ed

I swapped my 7 1/4 brakes rite over to the 8 3/4. For some reason my 7 1/4 had 5 holes and studs and not 4. anyway you should be able to just drill the 5th hole. Are the 7 1/4 and 8 3/4 both A body length? I *think* the a body backing plates might step down while non a bodies dont. just keep that in mind. im sure someone can tell you more about that. If your going from a body rear to a body rear i think youll be okay.

Break out the drills and let 'er rip. The 10X1 3/4" brakes were only used on A bodies.
