My dash gauge lights are kind of dim. I plan to take out my dash in a week or two to fix some gauges and was wondering if anybody has a part number for brighter dash bulbs. 67 Barracuda with rallye gauges.

Thanks!

Here's what I used

Got the new bulbs in. Thanks RedFish and SlantSixDan.

I used Sylvania # 2825
Got them at Wal-Mart for about $5.00 per pair

Dash lights are much brighter now!

Like RedFish suggested to me earlier: make sure you have the circuit boards grounded.

I ran a wire from 1 board to the other then to the V shaped dash brace
right behind the speedo

Very happy with the out come

Don't forget to ground the dash better....clean all contact areas and you will have great luck. There are several threads on here that deal with your issue.

Good Luck.

How bright do your dash lights need to be? Even the stock dash lights were bright enough to totally wreck your night vision. That's why they have a dimmer switch.

My dimmer switch at best goes from dim to dimmer.....hmmm

Turned all the way up, mine were still dim

Mine are too....I'm seriously thinking about pulling the cluster again and installing different bulbs after reading several posts.

C......I'll let you know how the LED's work out

They ship from St. Louis so they should be here in a couple of days.

Did you ground your dash circuit board better...jumper wire to frame or body?
I have jumpers on both sides of the circuit board tied together then bonded to the body. Clean the contacts on your light switch as well.

Made a huge difference for me....Here are superbriteled lamps in action.

IF you change your tail lights and parking lamps you will need an LED relay to run them....superbriteleds also has this upgrade.

The only thing not LED on my car are the headlights...they are HID.

Mop, did you use blue lights and remove the blue diffusers that came
on the cluster?

Hold it; read this before you replace any exterior light bulbs with "LED bulbs". It's not safe, no matter which "LED bulbs" you use. You might or might not get a ticket, but you'll very likely get in a crash. (search the linked page for LED retrofit if you want to skip down directly to that section).

Update on dash light brightness

Took the cluster back out this p.m. and installed the LED's

Let me tell you........these are great!

I used (4) of the WLED-WHP5 from superbrightleds.com
They were cool white and coming thru the blue diffuser made
all the difference in the world in my dash.

I only replaced the instrument lights.

That little project is complete!:thumblef:

So wheres the pictures of before and after to show the people?

Just took these......not dark in the garage

With LED's

This is way better than what I had
