Broke A Dam Shifter Cable.again

The heat shrink tubing would only be needed if your cable has a hole in it. If it does have a hole I wouldn't trust zip ties to hold it together.
 
So if you don't have a kickdown, do you have anything attached to the lever on the trans where the k/d is supposed to hook up to?
 
ok good. I was hoping you just didn't leave it undone, otherwise the trans wouldn't last til monday.

I don't know if it really works. I just wrapped a 5 inch section of the header and the cable where they touch! i also had to wrap my starter with 2 layers of thermotec! Heat kills... learned that with the first $150 mistake.. One thing I do know is they do deflect the heat. Two of my spark plug wires touch the header (I hate Headman). So I bought those wire insulated sock boot things.... They work like a dream!! This insulation stuff does cost a lot of $$$.
