I have a question about this.
When do you know you need to add bronze on a SB build? Someone suggested a cam to me, and said that I would not need bronze with that cam. I thought, great, but did not know why.

The Bronze gear is needed when using a billet steel solid roller cam.Some people use the bronze gear on the street and some don't but the bronze gear don't last as long as the steel gear regardless of mfg.The trick for long life is to not use thick oil and keep roller cam from moving more than .005-.010 inches.Hope this helps on your question.
