What kind of buckets have you integrated into your cars? I am looking for buckets for my Duster (it has a bench right now) and was entertaining the idea of using aftermarket buckets, or buckets from another make, but I am not sure what would fit or work best (aside from the originals).

What brands/makes/model seats have you put in your A-Bodies?

I have Procar Elite from Summit racing, fit great, but I just bought factory 68 GTS buckets. Check out Summit, they have a nice selection, I would offer mine, but there going in the 74 Duster.

Seeing as the seats themselves aren't really an issue, how about the tracks? I know they go into the indentions in the floor, but because I replaced the floor panels with sheet metal (they were rusted through), they no longer exist. Will I just have to grow a pair and fabricate some brackets, or will the tracks from other bucket seats still work?

My ProCar seat tracks bolted right in, not going to fit in the same exact holes as factory, but I agree with 70duster, try to find factory seats, there are alot of duster seats around, and alot cheaper the the ones for my Dart. Either way you will have atleast $600 in a set of buckets. I see duster buckets on craigslist all the time.

Yeah but I am in Florida, and most of the ones I find are for pick-up only (out of state). I don't know why people are scared of shipping seats. :banghead:

I can't just buy a set of 1974 Duster tracks and fit them to an aftermarket seat? That is of course, taking into account the danger factors, which means that they would be made sturdy and dependable (if possible).

If you have a chance you can scan your local ads or check out your local u-pull's for F-body seats. Pop put a set out of a '79 Aspen in Jamison's '72 Duster. It's a bolt in.

I never thought about that. :banghead:

As for Craigslist, a set of ProCar Rally's just came up for $300 in Jacksonville, meaning I can pick them up. They are gray, but in nice condition (no tears, stains, etc).

IF YOU CAN GUARANTEE they will fit, I will jump on them. Would I just need to drill new holes in the floor?

I have a set of black bucket seats I will be removing from my Duster and will be selling soon. These seats are in great shape with no tears and are very solid but are not original Mopar. They kind of sit too low in the car for me so I am changing these out for a pair of Mopar bucket seats. I have to recover these new seats I got so I still need to order the covers and recover them. If interested in the seats I have P.M me and we can work out a deal for em' - maniac

Only issue is that I am in Florida, and you are in North Carolina. Shipping would be a *****, and I just payed my college debts yesterday, so I have a limited budget. :sad1:

Like you said earlier, the tracks are going to be the tough part. The best way, IMHO, would be to go to a junkyard with a tape measure and find some seats you like and either fab or modify the existing brackets.
I put a set of buckets from an early '80s Escort in an '80 Trans Am one time. The seat shape and size was identical, just the upolstry didn't match. I had to adapt the Trans Am seat mount and slider to the Ford seats, but I wasn't too difficult.
If you go this route, be sure to take careful measurements. I actually bought the escort seats and center console to put in an S-10, but when I set them in place, they touched in the center (no room for console) and they touched the doors. I didn't realize how tiny the S-10 was, but, they fit like a glove in the T/A.

Ship by Greyhound. They can be cheaper than the others.I had a VW Hood shipped from AZ for $21.00

Well I have sealed the deal with the ProCar seats. They were only used for a short period, and look awesome. Plus they are only $300 for the pair. I have decided to fabricate the adapter by bending and welding some steel bars from the local Tractor Supply. I may even decide to buy the adapter from ProCar for the $150, IF I can't fabricate some adapters from the bars (which I am 99% sure will work).

I will pick them up Friday, and hopefully install them on Sunday.
