Down to a handful of items and got some questions about correct colors on the seat tracks.

Frames and return spring satin black pretty sure.

Adjuster return springs yellow.

Crossover wire and slip springs? Natural or brick red???

Thank you for any replies!!!

68 Dart

Tracks...semi gloss
Small adjuster springs...yellow
Large return springs...one of mine was black...the other was red
The crossover springs were missing...probably rusted away.

Thanks for the reply. Do you remember which return spring was red? Can't tell on mine but seems I have seen red on something in the past!

I don't remember what side had the red spring. It's the same design as the other one so it must be a vender difference. It shouldn't matter what side it goes on.

Do you know if the tracks have any aluminum on the insides at all? Mine are almost seized. I was going to dip them in acid to clean them up. The acid will eat away any aluminum. I don't want to ruin these.

Don't think there is any aluminum there.

They are a pita to clean up though. The grease the factory put on the tracks and slider rollers turns hard and is difficult to remove. Thought about dipping them as well but just used a dental pic and scraped all that crap away. Taped up the top rail so I could blast the lower section without getting all the blast material into the sliding rail .

Would painting only 1 of the large springs black have anything to do with its visibility ?

I'll have to look, but I don't think any of them are visible. The yellow ones on my Challenger aren't even visible.

Just a little side note, on my Challenger, the tracks were semi gloss but the large return spring was gloss black. I haven't dipped the Dart springs yet but I wouldn't be surprised if the black one was gloss too.

With or without a console would effect visibility ?
I don't really know since my 67 A-body buckets have all 4 dress shields that hide any springs.
