Converting 1970 blue, dyed green Charger seats to late '71 Dart black seats. Mods include changing the seat back release button as well. Will post more pics if anyone is interested in seeing the transformation. The last picture shows the style of the '71 seat they will transform to.

Post away! Ill be taking parts from several rear seats to create a 67-69 Dart Convert rear seat bottom so I'm interested in the details of your transformation.

also when I looked at your photos without reading the text.... I thought you went from yellow to torn black, I thought maybe he is making a joe dirt type car!

I converted early '70 Challenger seats to '70 Dart seats. The pushbuttons were the same. Hopefully you don't face the same issue I did but the listing wire locations and foams are quite different. It was a hell of a job making the covers fit nice.

Finally got surface rust rust cleaned off and primed for painting. Used the 3M Paint & Rust Stripper attachment, worked fantastic.

Part of the Bucket Seat process - installed Morris 3-point seatbelts, they use factory mounting points and buckles are held up in a nice plastic/vinyl sleeve so they’re easy to find.

When I installed aftermarket 3 point belts, all was well until the buckets went in... I have long legs and when I pushed the seat back it caught on the rewind box which pushed it back and rotated it on the anchor bolt so the opening was pointing at the rear seat. Had to take the seats, carpet and DynaPad up and weld in new anchors back near the front of the back seat bottom. Now is the time to mock it up and see if you have the same issue.

Reconfigured belt attachments - works perfectly now

The Morris retractors sit higher and are flat on the seat side. The mechanism is on the door side, not seat side, so fingers crossed! Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, listing wires installed. Had to move them out 2" each side to work with the Dart seats
