I have white 1967 barracuda buckets, but I don't have a Barracuda anymore!!!!! I now have a 68 Dart and want to trade these Cuda buckets for Dart buckets.

Jason

Did you know those seat frames are the same for both cars ?
Only the covers are different.

I was told they where different. The Barracuda seats have a different shape vs the Dart buckets this is what the guys from legendary said

1966-1967 barracuda and dart seats are the same. They have the metel backs. The covers are different ,but the seats are the same.1968 buckets are total different. They have the soft seat back ,that does not cover the entire seat back.I also beleave they are the basic same seat as 1969 a-body buckets.I went though this in trying to find a set of buckets for my 1967 dart.Hope this helps you.

These are the seats that were in my 67 Cuda when I got it, are these 67 or 68 seats?

those seats in the picture are 68-69 bucket seats.Notice that they do not have the metal back with chrome that goes around the seat back and track covers.

yup keith, those are not 67 seats. I will trade you for some though. I have 67 seats that are in way better condition and they have the correct back on them. If you want to tade I can get some pics for you. LMK

I hope Jason understands he doesn't need to trade anything now. Shipping seats aint cheap. As for arguing the point of frames under the upholstery being the same, I give up. LOL
by the way, 66 A-body seat frames are the same too except the top piece of back structure is round and doesn't have provisions for headrests.

I am in know way trying to argue that the frames are not the same.I do not know if they are or are not.I am just saying that there are several differences in 67 and 68-69 model seats.Hinge covers, seat backs, cover, and chrome.Thats alot of stuff to try to find to change over your seats. Thanks,MAtt

Red I can tell you that you can not get 68 GTS seat covers and put them on 67 Barracuda buckets.

On a related note, I've heard that 66/67 buckets are not quite as wide as 64/65 buckets. The reason I ask this is because I have swapped in a set of 65 buckets into my 65 Dart wagon and was planning on using a buddy seat between them. It looks like there's not enough room for the buddy seat. I have access to a set of 66 Dart buckets and if they are narrower than 65s my problem is solved (I think). Anyone know for sure?

I have never taken 65 model buckets down to the frames so can't say for sure. I know the floor pan and seat tracks changed from 66 to 67 which could make a seat appear narrower. Legondary or YearOne would know for sure about the frames.
