I think I am leaning toward this setup

http://www.flowperformance.com/

I was thinking about this

http://www.performancetrends.com/ez_flow_system.htm

But to be accurate with a orifice from what I have read about flow benches, combined with my 22 years measuring gas flow and pressure on semiconductor equipment you need to change the orfice when you change ranges.

I also found one of thies on e-bay but it is the 2.0" and that would not handle enough flow. see www.audietech.com

For vacuum pumps I was thinking about starting with 6 2 stage pumps that flow over 100 CFM so the flow should not drop off as fast @ 28"water I will build it to hold 8

Anyone here use a flowbench? I have ported heads w/o using templets but I want to move up a notch

Popular Hotrodding published a series of articles on building your own flow bench several years back. I found them online somewhere, so look around. I don't have a big shop so I've never really considered such a thing, but it sure would be cool!

I spent a lot on porting equipment and I want to take it to the next level but mainly for over 20 years I worked on Vacuum systems that made micro chips for intel and as a hobby I have ported a lot of heads building this bench will let me use some of my skills I picked up at intel to make my shop better.

I picked up 10 of the vacuum pump motors I wanted on e-bay for 179.50 for all 10 when I made the first post I was planing on spending from this site http://www.centralvacuumfactory.com/...olt-p-448.html
169.00 each but I wanted this 2 stage pump so that I could maintain the same pressure drop at higher flow rates I did a cost benefit analysis and to get accuracy at higher flow rate was worth the 1014 ( plus shipping ) for the first 6 pumps because I could add more of the same later.

Hows that for luck I decide what I want then find it cheap
