Good morning folks,
What a hoot I had yesterday!
Some of you may recall a thread I made a few months ago regarding the closed Byron, Ga. racetrack being used for Dodge Durango commercials:
http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=152000&highlight=racetrack
The owner of the track allowed our local club (Middle Ga. Mopar Club) to use the track for a meeting yesterday. It was a beautiful day, and we were allowed to take "casual" laps around the track. This track was on the NASCAR circut in the late 60's, and Richard Petty set a speed record there back in the day. A moonshine still was discovered in an underground bunker at the track, which most likely contributed to its closure...
Anyhow, had a blast. My "top speed"? Probably about 60-65 which is all they wanted us to do. It was major fun:cheers:
