Hey all. Hope every one is doing great so far this year. Here is my situation:

sanded car to bare metal. epoxy primer. spot sanded primer with 80 grit to add filler (rage). sanded with 220. applied epoxy primer 2 coats. Now as you see in the pic the filler shows throu the primer. when the primer was still wet you could not see throu it. but now it is dried you can.
So question is this------- WHAT THE HELL DID I DO WRONG? Or is this just normal. This is the first time I have done any work to this extent and not sure if it supossed to look this way. I am worried that when I apply the base it will show throu that as well. Any feedback would be helpfull. and thanks in advanced folks.

Just needs another coat. The filler is pourous and absorbed the primer.
Looks like you did a good job blending the seam.
I wouldn't worry about it as long as the surface and the air was dry when you sprayed it. Just shoot it again in a few days.

From the work you are putting into this, I presume it will not be a vinyl roof... A couple of comments,
First, you are working to hard!
Just kidding, body work is tough. From the picture it looks to me like you might be back into your dent. If you have sanded your bondo smooth but have a well defined edge, you are back into your dent and it may show (the dent) when you have painted. When I learned body work, I would have used a fairly wide swath that may have covered an area 3-4" or more on either side of the area you are filling. Sand it down smooth with 40 & 80 grit, to where you can see through the edges. Then use a glazing compound to cover that whole area again, sanding with 80 and 180 to where you can just see the bondo through it. Then 3 coats of hi build primer, block that off to where you start to see through it and repair any new spots that you see that are low or high and then 3 more coats of hi build.

You didn't say what primer you used. A good high build will cover up a lot!
Good luck with it,
C

thanks for the responces guys. I will give it a few days and re-spray. weather should be nice to paint this weekend here.
clhyer, if you were to slide your hand over the spot you can not feel any edge. i spent a few hours blocking (with just a 6 in block for that area) it just that the epoxy primer (can't remember the brand right now) soaked into the rage extreme body filler.

That's completely normal, there's no reason to respray your epoxy. You should be moving on to high build primer now, a few coats of that, a guide coat and block it and it'll look completely uniform. Getting the body straight is all to do with blocking out high build primer until it's perfect. Make sure you sand the epoxy if you missed the top coat window before spraying anything else over it.
