Hello, picked up my 340 block from the machine shop and he gave me the cam plug to install(they forgot to!….scary, I know!). He gave me a 1-13/16 concave disc type expansion plug, and it just seems to damn small! All the freeze plug type call for 1-7/8 but that is a diff type plug, but I feel the disc type peen in style should be 1-7/8 as well since this is so darn loose in the hole. Thoughts engine builders??

If it's a welch plug, it's probably correct and needs to be peened when installed in order to expand it. I would use sealer on it as well.

A picture would make it a lot easier.

Concave cup size 1.875 inch AND not this choice pictured cause you have a 340. Regardless the concave disc @ 1-13/16 is WRONG.

Thankyou. I feel I’d have to beat the thing flat in order for it to even reach side to side. I’m no expert w these plugs but when something seems wrong, no is the time to ask questions!
