I received a basket case 440 a few months ago and have since rebuilt the short block.
I am ready to install the flat tappet hydraulic cam and noticed that something is missing.
What exactly goes behind the camshaft sprocket to center this so it will bolt up correctly?
I am new to big-block Mopars.

Here is a picture of what I have. If you can also post a picture of the parts needed that would help a lot as well.

Thank you in advance

All you’re missing is the cam bolt and hardened washer.

The nub on the end of the cam centers the gear, which just rides against the thrust surface of the block.

The cam bolt itself is nothing special, just a grade 5 7/16” bolt, but the correct washer is unique.
Hardened, and fairly thick, with a big enough diameter to extend out past the hole in the gear.
