Oop's, I was swapping out my 8 3/4 center chunk to a sure grip and broke two ring gear bolts before the light came on and remembered they are left and thread, sooo...IF I could locate a 3/8 nf left hand grade eight bolt could could I use them? or do I have to get the ridiculously expensive ARP bolts, they are $78.00 plus tax here in Canada

Ok, panic over, I remembered I had a open 8 1/4 carrier in the parts shed and it turns out the bolts are the same, but when I was reading through my manual, ( not a factory one ) but a manual for rear diff service and repair it recommends replacing these each time there removed, any one do this?, I re-use my small block cyl head bolts so why not these?

There is a difference in pre 70 bolts and post 71 bolts. The 71 and newer have a raised shoulder where the 70 and older are straight shank.
