I bought this rebuilt alt. way back in the day 'cause it looked like the one in my Barracuda and it was only $20.00. I wanted to put it in my '68 Barracuda today so I could drive it while the original is rebuilt. Before I started I noticed it has two connectors marked 'FLD' for field whereas mine only has one 'FLD'. Will I be able to use this alt. and if so how do I hook it up? The original in the car has part # 2095192 and the rebuilt one has # 3438201.

To use the alt shown, just ground one of the FLD terminals. Take a connector and a short piece of wire, then conect one end to the FLD term and screw the other end of the wire somewhere on the case (you could use a ring terminal on the other end).

I have a powermaster alt for my 69 Fastback and that is what they said to do with their 2 FLD alts when you want to run a 1 wire ext regulator.

I have since converted to a 2 FLD system, so I just removed the ground jumper and hooked up the correct wiring for the regulator.
