I posted another thread a while back about the valve springs, guess what I really want to know is if I can use a cam with 276adv/286dur/ 441/441 lift. my engine is stock right now. it's a 72' 318.

how many miles are on the engine? i have a 66' 273 .450 .455 lift cam with no engine mods and original springs. Runs like a champ.

The cam card that comes with the cam will specify seat and open pressures for best results. Your stock 318 springs probably won't be enough. They were good for about 4500 RPM on a stock cam when they were new. Since that cam looks to be close to a stock 340 cam, a set of stock replacement 340 springs will probably be fine.

well I'm pretty sure it's the original engine, the car says 84,000, I want to say it hasen't ever turned over, because of the cars amazing shape, but I'm buying some heads that probably have come off a 340, is there a way to tell what size of engine they came off of?? (might be able to use the springs that come with those)lol

The stock springs will be work with that cam. You won't have any coil bind with that lift number. The real problem with your stock springs is more how old they are.
