Can someone tell me what these are and where they go (pics included)?

As the title reads, can someone tell me what these pieces are and where they go? I have 4 of them and they each have a small u-shaped clip. They look like they go in the interior somewhere.

This is for a 1969 Barracuda Convertible.

they make me think of the top release for the soft top, but i think i am wrong

Looks like the seat back release knobs to me.
