Can;t get gas up to carb

yes you need to vent the tank but i think it should start and run with a plugged vent, its not even starting right? is there a vent on the filler tube in the trunk?
 
No vent on the filler tube in 72. It does start and run it just leans out and eventually will stall idling.
 
Well since I cleared the vent tube my gas filter is filling properly. I also tryed taking the gas cap off at first and that started the ball rolling. Now the filter stays full at idle.
