carb rebuild

i ran out of gas last week and picked up some water in carb so while cleaning carb i went with rebuild kit replaced gaskets power valve accelerator pump and check valves reset both floats [ holley 4160 600cfm carb] now i have what is best described as a flat spot i idle motor up to 2g rpm and it fluctuates like it is bogging down a bit i have improved power but there is a half second or so hesitation when i take off i sprayed carb cleaner around carb looking for leaks. no luck, any guesses, i know its hard to guess and not hear it but all advice will be cosidered including let someone else fix it lol

well i went thru some older posts and cleaned out idle mix screws no luck any ideas its almost great but there is that lull and fluxuating surge i am stumprd

First, put a timing light on it while it fluctuates, and see if the timing is shifting(stuck weights). Make sure your getting a long squirt on pump.

tok it all apart again and cleaned it up again running good now maybe i ought to leave it alone lol
