Rebuilding a older Holley carb which is also my first time rebuilding a carburetor at all. Any one have any tips on how to remove the old cardboard type gaskets other than scrap them off? From what I can tell the carb hasn’t run in a long time if that makes a difference at all. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Spray them with carb or brake cleaner to get them wet, then scrape them with a plastic paint scraper... Metal scrapers can gouge the sealing surfaces and cause air leaks or fuel leaks..

Yes, be careful not to gouge the metal surface. Sometimes a razor blade is helpful. On any flat metal surface I always finish with a small wooden block wrapped in sandpaper dipped in gasoline.
