Hi,

I am ready to place the order on my new carb for my set up, but I need some input/suggestions.

Engine and basic info:

Small block 410
Max RPM 6500
Shift RPM 6000
Very minor street use ( drive to the track only ), most strip action
No choke required.
Drag Racing Application.
Elevation Sea Level.

Some online calculators are giving a 850 cfm carb will be fine...

Any input suggestions on what carb to purchase?

I think an 850 is a little big if 6500 is all you will spin it.

I'd stay with a 4779 Holley, & purchase an assortment of jets. Block off the power valve & start playing with jetting. (i.e. reading your plugs & time slip after a run.) On our stock eliminator Dakota & my bracket Demon, we only change one set of jets at a time. My Demon is running 84 square & the Dakota is running 80 square. The Dak is a 360 Magnum, .060 with a 435 lift cam. The Demon is a 416 stroker with a 590 solid cam in it.
