You need the VIN not the license plate number

You need the VIN not the license plate number

And it has to be the 17 digit VIN because CarFax won't work with the 13 digit VIN.

Ah ok ill get the vin.. it doesn't even need to be a carfax just a vehicle history report would do

Call your insurance agent with the VIN. They can look it up and see if there were any claims against that vehicle. My agent does that for me.

most of the times if the car was not reported smashed to the insurance company there will be no history

Yup if the insurance company didn't hear about it their will be nothing on the report.
