Why not 273 adjustables?

I have a couple sets if you are looking for a tougher rocker.
Excellent suggestion ,Crackedback. These should work well.
 
Like how tough? I do have higher spring pressures than stock. Would that be an issue? The other thing is, the engine has been completely rebuilt. I've had nothing but issues with the __ year old distributor that I know nothing about and plan on replacing. I just don't want to put some more old parts in the engine that I don't know are going to last.
 
Another thing to remember.......there were chunks of rocker arm sent into the motor when these things failed.
If you are lucky , they are still up in the head , but I'd take a very close look to make sure that there were no missing pieces.
Look at them as a jig saw puzzle....when mine failed , there was one piece that left no doubt where it came from.

Also, Tubtar I did look and found a couple pieces, but I haven't taken a serious look yet.
