Carpet install???

I am helping a buddy put a carpet kit in a 1970 (I think) BMW. Hes got some padding/sound deadener, and a carpet kit. Just curious, should Spray Adhesive be used to hold the carpet in place over the deadener?

BTW, any other install tips appreciated..

I would not do that because the adhesive could trap condensing moisture below it.
