Just wondering if the carpet is supposed to go under the gas pedal or not. Any help would be appreciated thank you in advance.
 
around

edit: around in a 72 Dart. mine bolts to the firewall not the floor.

If I remember correctly, the gas pedal assembly has a mounting pad that bolts directly to the floor with a gasket between the bracket and the floor.

Carpet goes over the bracket.
 
IIRC the carpet is slit to fit around the pedal bracket and lay flat behind it.
 
On our 67 there is no carpet up by the bracket. Bracket is mounted up by footwell and the pedal "floats" so to speak.
 
Shitty pic, if you got enuf carpet you could slice n dice?

On my '69 gas pedal bolts to firewall and I cut carpet to go under the gas pedal bracket. But carpet is under the gas pedal lever. Not sure what is factory correct etc just needed to get carpet to fit.
