Hi, one of the people here has a rubber matt out of a 74 , 2 dr duster, that I am considering getting to put in my 64 wagon. I know the 64 is narrower, but by how much?

If any of you having the early and later A body could chime in an opinion on how well the 67 and ups would fit in the 64, and 2 vs 4 door, I'd appreciate it. A little loose fit, I don't mind, but if it ends up being something that takes a lot of trimming, and still ends up looking really loose..........
I'm pretty fixed on brown vinyl. I've been told by one company that the stock vinyl in rolls is too stiff and needs a lot of heat to mold. Most of that stuff they sell to people putting it in vans. THanks agin.

The "bed" is going to remain bare, with a rug to put under heavy things
when necessary. I'm only talking about the pass. area. There, I'd need sound proofing, then something on top. Bed liner paint might look cool, esp. a speckle-type. Main point is that this is going to be used for camping, gardening side jobs, and dirt clean up needs to be easy.

Thanks for chiming in. (Who says that anymore? Sounds liike something from the Hardy Boys books.)

The bed liner is a rubberized coating and I was thinking of instead of carpet. I was going to go this route when I had a 64 Ford wagon, some of the factory stuff was not available any longer. You also would not need sound proofing if used, would add some weight, but not that much.

I'll have to look at some pickup beds and see how the coating lays.
If it has a lot of crevices, it would be hard to wash. But you have me thinking. Small floor mats would help deaden echoes.
The next question is heat transfer. I've been told that the aluminum backed stuff now available really keeps the heat out. A bit costly.

THanks.

Spray on is textured, but not that hard to keep clean. 4x4 guys spray Jeeps inside and out with it.

linex brand is the best, but you pay for the quality. It is not a do-it-yourself coating you have to go to a dealer/installer. When properly done it is nearly indestructable and completely waterproof. The only negatives about it are price and the texture is pretty rough so it is hard on the skin if you scrape against it.
