Carpet replacement questions

-
Hey, I know this is a bit late, but I ordered mine through ebay (72 Demon), ACC is the manufacturer. I think it is the same seller. I was pretty happy with the price and product. Interestingly, the same carpet is $250ish from the ACC website. Nice looking, shipped quickly, and fits well.

Hope this helps :)

Yes, one piece is a huge pain. I got a no name cheap one piece and I got the crap I paid for.

Are you guys sure original is two piece-I thought they were originally one piece

I bought mine from JC Withney several years ago
for my 70 Dart.
I'm just now getting ready to install it.
The original in my car was a 2 piece, the replacement is 1 piece.
The jute padding on the original is about 3/4in thick and heavy,
the replacement carpet jute is about 1/4in and very lightweight.
The new is molded to shape with plenty of extra to be trimmed.
I can get pics if you really need them.

I used a solder gun to cut holes, make fine edges, and deal with the weird synthetic fiber jute. It's annoying to cut with a razor knife, but melts away nicely. It was a lifesaver working around the shifter bezel.

Scuba weights worked great to hold the carpet down overnight to regain it's shape on the floor pan after being rolled up in the box. It was perfect the next morning. I'm sure any other small, heavy weights would work as well. A good heat gun on the backing helps too....I was just too lazy to go that route lol.
