Carter 9625 carb

A friend of mine has a 9625 carb and it is missing the choke plate and rod it attaches to.

Does anyone have an extra or a donor carb to pull it off?

We converted his 318 to the 4 barrel the other day and it just won't start. Gas is getting in, spark is there. I can only think that it has to be choked.

Any ideas on that is welcome too.

That isn't it. Pour some gas down the carb, it should fire up then, if only for a few seconds. If not, its got no spark..or compression..timing chains when very old can slip and cause weak compression, just a thought
