Carter carb differences??

I ordered a "NEW" carb for the wagon from Summit racing by application........1965 valiant 273 2 barrel Automatic transmission. Well it came in (Carter 1612) and is a different model than the old tired one that is currently on it (Carter 2297). Does anyone here on the forum know what the performance and application differences are between the two? If any?

The 1612 is a correct "replacement" carburetor and it should work just fine.

It bolted up mine and seems to work well, just playing with the adjustments, I'm just wondering what the differences are before I have the 2297 rebuilt.
