Have a dual quad 340 with two 500 Carters. The carbs were nos back last Fall. My motor used to have a 220 @ .050 cam but now has a Crane 226-230 @ .050 cam. Got a 10 inch converter so no problems idling in gear. However it has a sight hisation from off idle if I go to take off quick--part throttle. It moves out but I can feel its lean for a split second .
Also adjusting the idle screws-you can not go too rich--only too lean.
I know with Holley carbs you can open up the Idle Feed Restrictions a few thousandth of an inch..like .003 to allow more fuel in idle mode only.
I could also increase the accel pump discharge shot-if needed but any Carter guys know where and how hard it is to make the IFR .002 bigger
