I've got a used Carter Fuel Pump for my 360 LA Small Block, Part Number: 180-M6270. I can't seem to find a rebuild kit with all required components that's listed as fitting this model. Even the generic diaphragm listed in Summit says it doesn't fit this model. Does anyone know of a kit source for this pump, or a kit that will work on this pump? I'd even consider sending it out for a rebuild but can't find anything going that route either.

Ii believe that is an 8 hole diaphragm verses the small block 6 hole. You may need to order the big block pump kit. Try mancini racing

Near miss! Close, but they didn't show a kit for the M6270. Maybe Carter changed P/Ns on the new SB versions. I'll verify my number tonight and email Mancini Racing and get their thoughts.
Thanks RRR. Interesting site, but it looks like it's factory only fuel pumps. Strangely enough, I couldn't find a search function.

Ever heard of a phone call? Carter HP pumps were on a LOT of factory applications. The pumps themselves were the same across a lot of applications, so they'd take the same rebuild kit.

I want to verify the pump I have doesn't have an older P/N before I call or email.

Yes, you have to call them, all of the kits aren't listed........and the phone is answered only a few days of the week (I got through on a Thursday).

I bought a kit for a Carter 6903, which late versions are notorious for putting out too much pressure for an AVS/AFB carb. Their kit worked awesome and I couldn't be happier.

Ebay M6270

They have kits for those pumps. Ive bought several from them.

I called Mancini and the guy was no help. I then called RRR's recommendation and he told me where to find the actual Carter P/N on the mounting flange. This is indeed a BB fuel pump, but it looks like it will bolt up to the 360 T/C cover. Are the pumps interchangeable, or is the pump arm different lengths between BB and SB? I bought this motor already torn down, just FYI.

I have 2 of the same pumps. I tried Then and Now 10 times gave up. Phone was no go.

Pretty sure that the SB & BB are different. The arms are different.

Big and small block Mopars, big and small block Chevys Windsor Fords and I think a few other GM engines all share the same mounting flange. The pump arms are the difference.

Well I'm totally confused! My Carter pump has 6902 stamped on the mounting flange, is the 8-bolt configuration and has the long pump arm, as opposed to the BB short arm. Per Mancini, this is a BB & Hemi fuel pump. The Carter M6270 high volume pump is for a smallblock and is the 8-bolt together configuration. I'm going to take a leap of faith here and order the BB/Hemi 8 bolt rebuild kit from Mancini. Is the Carter high volume SB pump really a BB pump with a long pump arm?

The 6902 is a small block pump.

Doesn
You need some comprehension skills. That says for USE with 6902 and 6903 pumps. 6902 is the small block pump. 6903 is the big block pump. THEY BOTH USE THE SAME REBUILD KIT.

GET IT?
That's taking a huge leap of faith my friend. That would have been true had it said "Fits SB, B/RB, Hemi 8 Bolt Housing" but it doesn't, does it? Doesn't matter anyways, they're on backorder and have been for some time according to the Mancini rep.

No it's not.

Summit. Carter M6902 SMALL BLOCK

I guess you could’ve posted that on the #17 instead of asking me just to take your word. If I ordered that part from Mancini and said RRR told me it would fit a small block and it didn’t, you think they’d refund my money? I guess you win, congratulations!
I posted it when I found it. Go search the Summit site for that part number. It doesn't come up, because it's a discontinued part. The only way it came up was when I typed in M6902 Carter Summit and that's when it popped up. It's not about winning, it's about answering your question and trying to help you. Frankly, I've never seen anyone so unappreciative and hard headed. I spent a lot of time on the internet trying to find that information for you and all for free. Time I don't get back and not even a thanks. I have a list and now you're on it.

They only have someone answering the phones a couple of days in the week. Kits are made in house and totally worth the trouble.

I've gotten a couple of kits from them for slant six pumps before. It does take a little time to get in touch, but like you say, well worth the effort.
