Center Console paint Question?

Does anyone know the correct color for the center section on the center console of a 67-69 barracuda? Maybe this will explain it better, I am trying to paint the dull gray finish on the chrome center. It's the last part I have to paint for the interior. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
 
I got some argent wheel paint from Pep Boys . Not correct but it looks very good.

I think the argent is a slightly brighter silver , mine was painted black back in the day with a red stripe where the black one is . UGLY.... and a bad job .
I took the console apart , used paint stripper , then primered it with SEM self etching primer , painted it argent , then masked off the stripe and painted it a satin black , all spray bomb paint ....
Im very happy with it for a driver.
A show car would send them out for restoration .

Primed and painted today and the whole thing cracked and blistered. I even used a degreaser. Try again tomorrow.
 
You might wash it down with lacquer thinner then use a primer on
it. Make sure the primer has had enough time to dry. Apply the
Argent paint in very thin coats, letting it dry between coats.

Thats exactly what .i did. Tried to go to fast and paying for it now. Thought I was old enough to know better.
