my friends Dad has had this car console kicking around for a long time. I think it was from a van. Has anybody seen consoles like this? I’m not even sure who manufactured it

This screams Late 70's-to-early 80's Lincoln Continental center dash but, I could be wrong.
Edit: This is an example of an '85 center dash wood grain piece. Not the same as yours but you get the idea. Might be worth checking Lincoln (to see if that's the manufacturer).
