cheap anodized coatings??

well, while looking at the price of new parts, and a trip to autozone for some rattle cans, here is a cheap anodized coating for the wiper motor and brakes. the pics are from cell phone, not real good but will show the results.(the last shot of a wiper motor is a real anodized part for comparison)

got the small dupli-color rattle cans from autozone. the base is mocha frost metallic, FM316
after a even coat (first i painted the parts with flat aluminum paint, from there also, note, put a mist of black over the aluminum to make it a little darker color for the base makes a deeper gold tone, didn't use much and stood 2 feet away)
the other can is Hampsted green metallic 8800906 import auto spray.

you want to lay out a mist of the green from far away and let it settle on the base. if too much or too littel just add more green or overspray the mocha frost. the two small cans produced a test sample and all the parts and still half of cans left. ill try to get some better pics this week is anyone is interrested. the pics dont do it justice, it will fool you unless you stick your nose close enough to it. :)
