Is there a way to test the check valve and proportioning valve? I switched my 71 Dart from power drum brakes to power discs using parts from a 73 Dart parts car. The brakes will stop the car, just not very good at all. We did bleed the brakes again today and the pedal does feel better, but it just feels like the brakes are not good. Any suggestions...

You need to hook up the hose, you won't have good braking at all if the power brake booster isn't hooked up.

you say the idle issue got better after disconnecting and plugging the hose to the booster, right?

A guy on the other thread said to bypass the check valve and see if you have an idle problem again, right?

Theres a problem in the booster/check valve department

its $10 to find out wether it check valve or booster.

or simply remove the check valve and find a plastic fitting the hose itself can hook to, if idles bad again...it's the booster.jmo
