I just finished the masking process on my instrument bezel. Embarrassed to say, but I probably have 6 hours in masking..and the really sad part, besides the time it took me to mask, are the mistakes I'll no doubt see after I do the paint and chrome. I'd like to here from those that did their own restoration on their bezels. Masking techniques, paint colors, including the "chrome" trim parts....and please post pictures.. Show 'em off...!!
I used tape and liquid mask.

Looking forward to your results. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of mine, but I attempted a restoration on my Scamp bezel. I used a white paint pen (and a steady hand) for the lettering which turned out great, and chrome vinyl wrap for the chrome. The larger sections of chrome turned out super, but the small sections not so great, and none of it liked the summer heat. Would NOT recommend....in case anyone was thinking of trying it.
